EPISODE 106: Jonathan Ferrer (Brew Watches) on building a brand identity and the micro scene in 2021

Andy first met Jonathan Ferrer from Brew Watches back in 2015, at the first Wind Up Watch fair. And while Brew’s heart can still be found in a good cup of coffee, the brand has evolved and matured with the times. We talk to Jonathan about balancing growth while staying true to the brand vision. Jonathan also talks about the founding impetus for Brew, built off his work as a freelance watch designer and the importance of coming out of the gate strong, with a powerful silhouette that triggers nostalgia. We also get into the nuts and bolts of a small watch business, the importance of social media, how to balance stock and customer expectations, as well as why Brew went all out with the bracelet of the Metric, which is unusually complicated for a $400 watch.
